Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The Ontario immigrant nominee program (OINP), a provincial nominee program (PNP), is a network of immigration channels that open up the possibility for foreigners to settle permanently in Canada. The PNP is deliberately created to draw immigrants to the province in fields like as skilled labor, workers in fields where there is a labor shortage, entrepreneurs, and investors.

There are 4 separate immigration categories in Ontario. Through those particular streams, you can submit applications for the company, foreign student, and employer eligibility categories. Ontario uses Canada’s express entry program to speed up the application process as well.

  1. Employer eligibility

Employers looking for individuals to fill specific tasks and foreign workers with job offers both fall under this category.

Requirements for employer eligibility:

Employers in the GTA must:

  • Have run a successful business for at least three years
  • Own a minimum of $1,000,000 in gross revenue from the prior fiscal year
  • A minimum of five full-time, permanent staff
  • Having a place of business in on

Employers outside the GTA must:

  • A minimum of three years of active business
  • Have gross revenues of at least $500,000 from the prior fiscal year
  • A minimum of three full-time, permanent staff
  • Having a place of business in on

Position requirements

  • Be full-time, permanent roles
  • An occupation requiring skill (NOC 0, a, or b)
  • Meet the standard salary rates
  • Not interfere with the resolution of any labor dispute
  • Be essential to the business's operations

  1. Ontario business category

Under the foreign worker stream, the applicant must have:

  • A full-time job offer in a skilled occupation (listed NOC a, b, or 0) from an authorized on employer
  • A minimum of 2 years' worth of experience working in the targeted field within the previous 5 years
  • Gotten a form for an approved position by the employer's pre-screen
  • A salary that is competitive with the on average for the profession
  • If the potential nominee is in Canada, their legal status

Under the Investors stream, the applicant must have:

  • active participation in business management and the development of at least 5 new jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • The ownership of at least 33.334% of the company's stock or a minimum investment of $1 million
  • No option to redeem the investment after a predetermined amount of time

Under the International Student stream:

  • The Stream with a Job Offer
  • Graduated in the last two years, or will soon graduate, from a Canadian college or university that is recognized as being publicly supported
  • A job offer for full-time work in NOC A, B, or 0
  • Gotten a form for a position that the employer has already approved
  • A salary that is competitive with the standard entry-level wage in Ontario
  • Legal status
  • The international stream for PhD graduates
  • For those who have completed PhD programs at publicly supported universities in Ontario
  • Don't require a job offer
  • The graduate route for Masters abroad.
  • For students who have completed their master's degree at a qualified university in Ontario, or who are in their last semester
  • Don't require a job offer

  1. International Student Stream

  • graduated in the last two years—or will soon graduate—from an authorized Canadian institution or university that is publicly funded
  • offering a full-time position in NOC A, B, or 0
  • gotten a form for an approved position by the employer's pre-screen
  • a proposed salary that is equal to the standard entry-level wage in Ontario
  • legal status
  • The Graduate PhD Stream International

  • For alumni of publicly financed universities in Ontario that offer PhD programs.
  • Require no job offer
  • The graduate route for international masters
  • For students who have completed or are enrolled in their last semester of a Master’s degree at an Ontario university that qualifies.
  • Require no job offer

  1. Express Entry

  • Human Capital Priorities- candidates will fill a specific need in the labor market
  • French Speaking Skilled Worker- candidates with strong English-speaking abilities that have the skills needed to fill a demand in the market
  • Skilled Trades- candidates have on-going work in Ontario
